This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning through online activities. This course will require a majority of your course work to be done on-line, on your own computer. This course was developed with minimal physical interaction requirements in response to COVID restrictions, and the health and wellness of our staff and students. This class will require you provide multiple video submissions of skills performances, for instructor review and feedback. Content will be reviewed during weekly Zoom classes with the instructor. There will be required in-person skills competencies for the mid-term and final.
Students can expect to spend a minimum of 20-24 hours each week on the course doing the required reading, online assignments and video submissions.
Class will meet online via zoom, the following Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm -7:00 pm:
February: 17, 24 March: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 April: 7, 14, 21, 28 May: 5, 12, 19, 26
Students will be required to attend either two nights or one day (8 hours total), for in person for skills in April and May: April 11 (8:00-4:30) or April 12 & 13 (5-9) May 13 & 17 (5-9) or May 23 (8:00-4:30)
NREMT Practical testing fees are included in price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included.

Class Description: |
This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants, Children and Operations.
Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensure test.

Required Lab Materials: (1)Stethoscope (1) Adult Blood Pressure Cuff (6) 6” Rolled Gauze (6) Triangular Bandages (1) 36” Padded Aluminum Splint (1) 34” Long Cardboard Splint
If purchased through UTC, the $300 fee includes textbook and lab materials.
United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS approved Training Center.
United Training Center does not issue college credit for this program. College credit may be achieved through articulation agreements. Please contact us for more information.
Registration is not complete until the non-refundable $95.00 Course Application Fee is paid. Purchase orders are accepted, please contact the Education Department.
Prior to the start date of the course, an email with course information, will be sent to all registrants. Invoices will also be sent via email. Course enrollment is not confirmed until the course is paid in full. After registering for this course, additional payments can be made through the emailed invoice.
Please Note: The $95 Application Fee is included in the total cost of the course, this is not an additional fee added to the $1095.
