EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) - Waldo County

Comments: This is a traditional style course that also utilizes an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. You will need a laptop for this course. This is an in-person class. Students are expected to be in class all dates listed below.

Students can expect to spend a minimum of 10-12 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments.

Class will meet on the following Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm:
September: 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29
October: 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27
November: 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22

Class will also meet on the following Saturdays from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm:
September: 10, 24
October: 8, 22
November: 12

Make up days (if needed):
November 26, 29

NREMT Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included in the cost of this course.
Class Description: This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants, Children and Operations.

Due to current state regulations, EMT Clinical rotations are not allowed. Should this change before the end date of this course, clinical opportunities will be offered as a part of this course, with no additional fees.

All students taking this course will be required to be vaccinated and wear face coverings and eye protection while in class. Students are welcome to provide their own, or the Training Center will provide disposable masks and one set of safety glasses.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensure test.
General Comments: United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS approved Training Center.

United Training Center does not issue college credit for this program. College credit may be achieved through articulation agreements. Please contact us for more information.

Registration is not complete until the non-refundable $100 Course Application Fee is paid. Purchase orders are accepted, please contact the Education Department.

Prior to the start date of the course, an email with course information will be sent to all registrants. Invoices will also be sent via email.

Refunds/Payments: Full refunds will only be issued in the event of course cancellation or prior to the “Official Start Date”. Payment in full must be made prior to start date of class.
