2019 RN TO PARAMEDIC PROGRAM

Comments: Registered Nurses interested in pursuing a career as a paramedic are invited to attend our RN to Paramedic Program. This is a 12 week course, with two scheduled snow days, to prepare Registered Nurses in the field of paramedicine. Through lecture and simulation, students will learn crew resource management and aspects of pre-hospital care.
The course will run Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
The dates are:
January 23, January 30
February 6, February 13, February 20, February 27
March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27
April 3, April 10, April 17 (make up day), April 24 (make up day)
Class Description: The educational format for this class will include both online and classroom learning. Computer and internet access are required for this course.

A $125 application processing fee is due at time of registration.

Once you register for the class, you will receive an application packet and immunization forms.


General Comments: The course will cover:
• Pre-Hospital Medications and Protocols
• Advanced Cardiac assessment
• Advanced Cardiac treatments
• Advanced 12 lead interpretation
• Pre-Hospital care of trauma and medical patients
• Patient assessment
• Advanced Airway Techniques
Clinical and field time will be required to complete the course. Clinical and field time will be customized to each individual RN based on prior experience and training.
After successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to sit for the NREMT paramedic cognitive and psychomotor examinations.
Program requirements:
• RN in good standing with a current license.
• Three to five years experience as a critical care provider
• Current EMT certification at the state level
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
• Two letters of reference in support of your application
• Immunization forms
