Comments:This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course will require a majority of your course work to be done on-line, on your own computer. There will be, face to face, in class sessions with your instructor to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT.

Students can expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments.

Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional 14 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences. A minimum of 24 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensure test.


General Comments:United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS approved Training Center.

United Training Center does not issue college credit for this program. College credit may be achieved through articulation agreements. Please contact us for more information.

Comments:Registered Nurses interested in pursuing a career as a paramedic are invited to attend our RN to Paramedic Program. This is a 12 week course, with two scheduled snow days, to prepare Registered Nurses in the field of paramedicine. Through lecture and simulation, students will learn crew resource management and aspects of pre-hospital care.
The course will run Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Class Description:The educational format for this class will include both online and classroom learning. Computer and internet access are required for this course.

Comments:This is a diploma Paramedic program for currently licensed EMTs and AEMTs. You must be licensed at the EMT level to start this course. Advanced EMTs will need to complete the entire program.

Program Dates:

Class will be held every Thursdays from 8 am to 5 pm. *Class will also be held one Saturday a month from 8 am to 5 pm. Dates to be announced.

Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional time after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences.

A college level Anatomy & Physiology course (no lab required) is necessary prior to beginning this course*. An official transcript is required to be submitted to the Training Center to complete your application package. You must have a "C" or better to meet this requirement. We do accept some online A&P courses, please contact United Training Center for more information.
