Comments: |
This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course will require some course work to be done on-line, on your own computer. There will be, face to face, in class sessions with your instructor to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT.
Students can expect to spend a minimum of 20 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments.

This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants,Children and Operations.

Class will meet on the following Wednesdays, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
August: 21, 28 September: 4, 11, 18, 25 October: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 November: 6, 13, 20 December: 4, 11, 18 January: 8, 15
There will be no class on November 27, 2019, December 25, 2019 or January 1, 2020.
Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional 60 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences. A minimum of 150 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives.

You must hold a current, valid AEMT license to start this course and have experience working as an AEMT for at least 2 years. This is a traditional style course, there will be minimal online components, the majority of the course will be face-to-face instruction.
Students can expect to spend a minimum of 4-6 hours each week doing the required reading and assignments.

Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional 14 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences. A minimum of 24 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives.

This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. High speed internet access, a laptop, a webcam and a microphone required to participate in the lecture portion of the class. Lecture will be held via Zoom. With high speed internet connection, students can attend the lecture portion of this course right from their own home.

In-Person Lab sessions will be held on the following Saturdays From 8:30-5:00

Psychomotor Skills Exam fees are NOT included in the cost of the course.
Clinical will run concurrent with the course and you will be given an additional 60 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical experiences. A minimum of 150 clinical hours are required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives.

This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. This course will require a majority of your course work to be done on-line, on your own computer. There will be, face to face, in class sessions with your instructor to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT.
Students can expect to spend a minimum of 12-20 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments, and online course assignments.

This is a fast paced course, utilizing an online platform to enhance learning through online activities. This course was developed with minimal physical interaction requirements in response to COVID restrictions, and the health and wellness of our staff and students. This class will require you provide multiple video submissions of skills performances, for instructor review and feedback. Content will be reviewed during weekly Zoom classes with the instructor.
