This is a traditional style course that also utilizes an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. You will need a laptop for this course. This is an in-person class. Students are expected to be in class all dates listed below.
Students can expect to spend a minimum of 10-12 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments.
Class will meet on the following Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm:
September: 1, 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29
October: 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27
November: 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22
Class will also meet on the following Saturdays from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm:
September: 10, 24
October: 8, 22
November: 12
Make up days (if needed):

NREMT Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included in the cost of this course. |
| Class Description: |
This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants, Children and Operations.
Due to current state regulations, EMT Clinical rotations are not allowed. Should this change before the end date of this course, clinical opportunities will be offered as a part of this course, with no additional fees.
All students taking this course will be required to be vaccinated and wear face coverings and eye protection while in class. Students are welcome to provide their own, or the Training Center will provide disposable masks and one set of safety glasses.
Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensure test. |

This is a fast paced diploma Paramedic program designed for currently licensed Advanced EMTs. You must hold a current, valid AEMT license to start this course and have experience working as an AEMT.
Program Dates:
Class will be held every Tuesday from 8 am to 5 pm and occasional Saturdays. Clinical/Field time will run concurrent with the course and you will be given 60 days after the last day of class to finish up any incomplete clinical/field experiences.
A college level Anatomy & Physiology course (no lab required) is necessary prior to beginning this course*. An official transcript is required to be submitted to the Training Center to complete your application package. You must have a "C" or better to meet this requirement. We do accept some online A&P courses, please contact United Training Center for more information.
A valid Basic Life Support CPR card is required to attend this course.

After registration, payment of Application Fee, acceptance into the program, and payment of the Course Deposit, the remaining training cost will be fully funded for each eligible student. To discuss additional supports to eliminate barriers to participation in this training, contact healthcaretrainingforme.dol@maine.gov.
A $200 non-refundable application processing fee is due at time of registration.
Once you register for the class, you will receive an application packet and immunization forms within 15 days. An interview and pre-test will be required before admission to the program. Once accepted into the program, your enrollment is not confirmed until we receive the $800 student deposit. Payments can be made from the emailed invoice. Please note the invoice amount will include the entire cost of the course, The total student responsibility is $1000 which includes the $200 non-refundable application fee and the $800 student deposit, after acceptance into the course.

The first class on Friday September 9, 5:30-9:30 will be in person.
Students will be required to complete 4-6 hours of course preparation work each week, prior to coming to lab.
A laptop and Wi-Fi access is required for this course
