Traditional Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course - Orono

Comments: This is a traditional style course, with all lecture and lab sessions held in-person. This course will require very minimal online course work.

Students can expect to spend a minimum of 4-6 hours each week doing the required reading assignments.

Class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and some Saturdays.

Monday and Wednesday classes will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the following dates:

January: 19, 24, 26, 31
February: 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28
March: 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30,
April: 4, 6, 11, 13, 20, 25, 27

Saturday classes will be held from 8:00am to 5:00 pm on the following dates:

January: 29
February: 12, 26
March: 12, 26
April: 9, 23, 30

NREMT Practical testing fees are included in price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included.
Class Description: This course prepares students for the entrance level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants, Children and Operations.

All students must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend this course.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT Computerized Adaptive Test.
General Comments: United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS approved Training Center.

Registration is not complete until the non-refundable $100.00 Course Application Fee is paid. Purchase orders are accepted, please contact the Education Department.

Prior to the start date of the course, an email with course information will be sent to all registrants. Invoices will also be sent via email. Course enrollment is not confirmed until the $100 non-refundable Application Fee and the $400 non-refundable Course Deposit are paid. After registering for this course, additional payments can be made through the emailed invoice.

Please Note: The $100 Application Fee and the $400 Course Deposit are included in the total cost of the course, these are not additional fees added to the $1200.

Refunds/Payments: Full refunds will only be issued in the event of course cancellation or prior to the “Official Start Date”. Payment in full must be made prior to start date of class.
