OEC Bridge to Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Comments: To be eligible to attend this course, students MUST be Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certified by the National Ski Patrol.

This is a fast-paced course, utilizing an online asynchronous platform for the didactic portion of the class.
There will be face-to-face, in-class sessions with your instructor to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT.

Students will need to complete all online modules and assignments as well as attend all lab dates and meet the lab objectives prior to the end date of the class to be eligible to test for the NREMT certification.

In-person lab sessions will be held from 9:00 - 2:00 on the following dates:
April: 1, 2, 3, 15, 16

The practical Skills Exam will be held at United Training Center in Lewiston on April 23, 2022.

NREMT Practical testing fees are included in the price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included.

TEXTBOOK is not included in the program.

Class Description: This course prepares students for the entry-level to work on an ambulance. The course covers Ambulance Operations, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Medical Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, Infants, Children, and Operations.

Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions, clinical time may be replaced with simulation.

A COVID vaccine is required of all students taking this course.

All students entering the facility will be required to wear face coverings and eye protection. Students are welcome to provide their own, or the Training Center will provide disposable masks and one set of safety glasses.

Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT licensure test.
General Comments: United's Education Division is a Maine-EMS-approved Training Center.

United Training Center does not issue college credit for this program. College credit may be achieved through articulation agreements. Please contact us for more information.

Enrollment is not complete until all course fees are paid in full ($100 Course Deposit, and $550 tuition). Purchase orders are accepted, please contact the Education Department.

Prior to the start date of the course, an email with course information will be sent to all registrants. Invoices will also be sent via email. After registering for this course, additional payments can be made through the emailed invoice.

Refunds/Payments: Full refunds will only be issued in the event of course cancellation or prior to the “Official Start Date”. Payment in full must be made prior to the start date of the class.
